KISS @ Hallenstadion – Zurich

4.7.2019 Photos and text by Ian

What’s a typical way to spend the USA’s Independence Day… fireworks and extravaganza of course! Well, KISS did not disappoint and delivered exactly that, with a full frontal assault of typical theatrics and heavy sounds. The Hallenstadion was sold out, and pretty hot meaning the roof panels were also opened, allow the surrounding Oerlikon to ‘enjoy’ the concert late into the balmy evening as well!

On the flip side, if you’d been at Muse the night before or another recent gig, you could be forgiven for thinking KISS were a bit “old-school 80’s” and brought a well worn formula to the stage, all be it with modern technology. But actually you’d be correct. However, it seemed to satisfy the full house of young school kids right through to aged grandpa rockers and all had a pretty good time from what I could tell. Thank you KISS for a glam’d up glimpse of how rock looked a couple of decades ago!

Enjoy the photos (by the way, KISS are a photographer’s dream – great lights, lots of action and plenty of poses – hence more photos that usual to show you)…
